Full Job Description
The Director of OE will work with the Head of Operational Excellence and will be responsible for the creation, co-ordination and implementation of the OE strategy across support functions and suppliers as well as the continuation of the OE rollout in Tech Ops. The Director of OE can be based anywhere in Europe, but the main areas of operation are UK, Ireland and Italy. This role has 4 key areas of responsibility: Strategic Implementations
- Co develop and implement maintain the Enterprise Excellence model along with business leaders.
- Support, guide and co create functional excellence strategies to ensure business success and effective growth
- Work across Jazz, and its supplier base, to identify and implement beneficial improvements whilst building strong, collaborative relationships.
- Lead and evolve OE program direction within global TechOps organization
- Lead the end to end approach for OE implementation Tactical Implementations
- As and where needed to facilitate, lead or support, tactical implementations. This will include both the internal manufacturing facilities and the value chain associated with the development and commercial manufacturing base. It will also include the site based organisations and other functions as needed.
- Drives and facilitates operational excellence program within the global Technical Operations functions supported.
- Ensures coordination and alignment across functions to ensure seamless integration, implementation and measurement of performance.(including the performance of the OE team)
- Develop & monitor OE metrics for key success and continuous improvement drivers across TechOps Internal Capability Build
- Develop and maintain a core set of training and development material to support OE capability build across Technical Operations.
- Provide on the job support and training for functional leaders and functional team members to support OE adoption.
- Provide on the job training and rotational opportunities for staff to enhance development People Leadership
- This role (over time) will have direct staff.
- This role is also a business partner role where the leader will partner with senior level functional leaders to understand / develop and help deliver their functional strategy
- Lead a team of OE professionals in executing the OE strategy.
- Coach and support individual team members in the career development through constructive feedback
Appropriate Lean / OE / Change Management knowledge or experience is essential. - Experience at Corporate / cross network level supporting Technical Operations (development and commercial manufacturing)
- People leadership experience, competent in building and maintaining high performing teams
- Ability to inspire and promote a culture of change, innovation and self- improvement to all levels within the organisation.
- Excellent organizational, verbal , communication and presentation skills
- The skills to solve complex problems by using OE, statistical and change management tool
- The ability to understand, analyze and improve a wide range of processes.
- OE skills covering Lean, statistical analysis and change management
- Strong influencing skills are required to build empathy and a high level of coaching skills in order to assist Jazz staff
- Progressive and proven track record of managing projects, preferably within a multi-national environment in multi discipliniary teams. Required/Preferred Education and Licenses
- Ideally OE skills to match Black Belt or Master Black Belt level, covering lean, statistical & six sigma knowledge
- Experience of other industries would be highly advantageous as would experience of support functions mentioned above

Technical Operations (TechOps) is the organisation tasked with the development, manufacture and supply of medicines globally. Operational Excellence (OE) is a key strategic capability to drive engagement and effective growth by, optimizing processes, improving efficiency and delivering consistent value across TechOps TechOps has developed, and embedded, a strong OE culture across its 'operational' functions and we now seek to broaden the approach into external CMO's/ suppliers and enabling functions e.g. HR, Procurement, IS etc. In addition, this role will identify external best practices and begin to benchmark Jazz OE against external companies. The role supports and is key to deliver TechOps strategy through engagement, performance measurement and capability build.
