Full Job Description

This role is accountable for the management and execution of the manufacturing activities at site level for sterile injectable liquid filled and freeze dried products. This is a pivotal role to integrate all operational activities and teams into a "One Operations team" at the Swindon site. Using the "One operations approach" you will achieve reliable execution with consistently high-quality products, delivering critical KPI`s in safety, to meet people and customer expectations. This role will report directly to the Site General Manager, and work closely with the Site Leadership Team and Functional Leaders to build a successful "One Site" operations team, fostering cultural transformation. All Operations Managers and directly associated Technical Managers will report to this role., Management of the production plan

  • Build strategic capabilities within the Operations Management team to consistently meet Clients requested and agreed forecast.
  • Through integration of the Site S&OP process, working with Planning and Supply functions, deliver a robust execution plan.
  • In collaboration with Manufacturing, Science and Technology team (MS&T) team, build technical capabilities within the operations teams to resolve today's issues that put at risk fulfilling our commitments to the clients.
  • 2. Innovation and Continuous Improvement
  • Adopting an Innovative approach, integrating with Practical Process Improvements (PPI) leader and using digital tools, to optimize the operational teams capabilities, leading to a "Do more with no more" status.
  • Drive a thorough approach within reporting teams, through structured daily tiers meeting and reviewing company metrics, to find a better way every day, driving productivity and improving product and service quality to strengthen customer allegiance.
  • 3. Compliance
  • Drive a collaborative Culture with the Safety and Quality function, ensuring all company quality standards are met, by ensuring all documentation, procedures and training packages align with processes and personnel qualified to the regulatory standards, as a core business activity.
  • Implement a "zero defect" approach, using network, standard processes and creation and adoption of robust CAPA plan.
  • Lead and own business continuity and risk registers for the Operations function, with investment requested to mitigate recorded risks as required, via the CAPEX process.
  • 4. Financial management
  • Forge a close relationship with the Financial Leads, ensuring daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial metrics are attained for all cost center's within operational control. Ensuring recovery plans are in place where financial challenges exist.
  • Ensure a close relationship with Business Management to realize "New Client" Opportunities, adding financial benefits, Investment and growth opportunities to the site and global organization.
  • 5. Talent and team management
  • Create an Operational organization, competently trained and capable to meet Site, Business and Client demands. With all personnel involved in the performance management processes.
  • Cultivate a workplace culture that values, attracts, motivates, deploys, and retains individuals who are hard-working. Support and guide employees within the area to foster diligent performance.
  • Interaction and Influence:
  • As a member of the Site Leadership Team, contribute to the definition and execution of the Swindon strategy.
  • Be a role model to everyone on the site, inspiring and creating an environment of success.
  • Have a strong influence on site decision making, also in terms of feasibility assessment for production activities.

    Bachelor Scientific Degree or equivalent experience., Minimum 10 years Pharma industry experience and 15 years in a relevant industry.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in leading Operational teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of sterile injectable manufacturing processes and technologies within the pharmaceutical industry., Understanding of pharmaceutical industry supply chain strategies for sterile manufacturing of liquid filled and freeze dried product.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing under cGMP conditions and pharmaceutical industry regulatory environment.
  • Understanding of site financial analytics and budgeting.
  • Advanced written and spoken communication skills, to engage with clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and manage effective teams.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
