Full Job Description

The Director, Strategic Development & Operations Integration will lead a team responsible for providing integration project management for all current and future Disney Cruise Line (DCL) projects, including new builds and dry docks. This position will be the key integrator to Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) Project Teams, to ensure strategic alignment between DCL leadership, key partners in operations, commercial, human resources, technology, public relations and affairs teams, to facilitate successful project delivery.

Reporting to the VP New Builds and Dry Dock, the Director is responsible for providing strategic and critical analytical, decision, and communication support to drive and act as a bridge between all partners across DCL newbuild and dry dock projects throughout the project life cycle; from initial program development and boxology, through design development, into construction and implementation, overall operational readiness and close out.,

  • Manage the integration of all projects throughout the life cycle and help to define all milestones and critical paths. In partnership with WDI, develop dependency plans across all projects to ensure schedules, resources, risks, and issues are managed appropriately.

  • Lead the preparation of business cases, 'needs assessments', project execution plans and other pertinent information to assist decision making for DCL leadership regarding future expansion.

  • Project Management: Accountable for the development and maintenance of the project program throughout the lifecycle of the project from high level space boxology to detailed operational requirements, culminating in the production of a final program book.

  • Lead operational readiness efforts for all projects and contingency planning efforts across all DCL teams. Accountable for providing planning and communication support for the following pre-launch activities; OFE loading, vessel commissioning team set up, crew training and costuming, logistics arrangements for crew and business traveller embarkation, and operational completion of crew and guest spaces.

  • Manage DCL project reviews and documentation to be shared with Senior Executives.

  • Accountable for the DCL change management process for project program changes.

    Extensive large scale project management experience in shipbuilding, industrial engineering, or a related construction or property field. Cruise industry experience an advantage but not essential.

  • Leadership experience in building, developing, and managing a team of project managers.

  • Strong collaboration and partnering skills for working in a complex, international, matrixed environment.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills for working with stakeholders at all levels of seniority.

  • Highly motivated self-starter able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Must be able to travel as required, ability to be flexible with work schedule, including weekends and holidays.
