Full Job Description

RPS is looking for a Director to join our Planning Team (based in Farringdon), to capitalise on the continued growth and development of our planning business. In this strategic role you will grow and develop business and provide directorship to the team.

We deliver planning applications and permissions for some of the UK's most important development and infrastructure projects including residential, commercial, mixed-use, data centres, airports, retail, logistics and renewables projects. We work with the country's other innovating organisations in the development of property and infrastructure and, provide integrated services drawing on other planning, environmental and design services offered by RPS.

What you will be doing

Reporting to the Operational Director, you will have a record in work winning with a strong stakeholder following. Alongside generating new business, you will be mentoring and guiding other members of the team.

· Undertake effective business development activities, demonstrating a return on investment

· Drive proposals and/or bid processes which may involve collaborating with other parts of the business

· Work in partnership with the broader RPS Consulting businesses and RPS Group to drive our multi-disciplinary offering to customers

· Assist the Operational Director in the preparation of short (1 year), medium (3 years) and long (5 year) term business plans for the team to maintain a profitable and sustainable RPS presence in the market

· Assume Project Director role on projects with overall ownership of contract, financial performance, quality, programme, and risk

· Represent and promote RPS at conferences and events, as and when required including participation on panels and debates in addition to preparing and publishing thought guidance pieces

· Share new work and opportunities with colleagues within your team and across the Division

· Promote the use of social media to effectively market the team and its ideas
