Full Job Description

A one-year rotating internship offers the opportunity to work within a state-of-the-art referral practice, developing your clinical skills and knowledge by working alongside world-renowned specialists. Following an induction period, interns rotate through the various core and elective disciplines that can include:

  • Internal Medicine
  • Soft tissue surgery
  • Orthopaedics
  • Anaesthesia
  • Emergency and critical care
  • Neurology
  • Oncology
  • Radiation oncology
  • Cardiology
  • Ophthalmology
  • Diagnostic imaging
  • Dentistry
  • WHY SHOULD YOU CHOOSE A LINNAEUS INTERNSHIP? Our rotating internship programmes are structured with a thorough induction, ongoing support and a handbook to help you find your way when you start. You will learn an incredible amount from the cases you see as part of your clinical rotations and regular seminars within the practice. We also bring our interns together for regular teaching sessions across the group. There's a programme of professional skills and wellbeing training delivered by experts, including Carolyne Crowe from VDS Training and specialists from within Linnaeus. Our diagnostic imaging specialists also deliver monthly intern imaging rounds and from the start of 2022 all interns will attend a year-long research skills course. Interns attend an annual training day with clinical seminars, professional skills and wellbeing sessions and a career development workshop including sessions on writing CVs, covering letters and interview techniques. All rotating interns are also given RECOVER online basic and advanced life support training. Our discipline-specific interns are also given professional skills and clinical research training and have access to a number of journal and book clubs that run via online sessions across the group. We also run a session on "How to get a Residency" and give our interns the opportunity to have mock interviews. MENTORING AND SUPPORT All interns are mentored by a senior member of the clinical team within the practice who has received mentor training. Rotating interns have monthly meetings with their mentor based around the internship workbook that guides them in the creation of a personal development plan and reflection on their progress throughout the programme. Interns are further supported by the Internship Director in their practice, the Linnaeus Internship and Residency Manager and our Central Support Team who check in with the intern teams regularly during the programme and are available for advice and support. HOW WILL YOU BENEFIT? We are passionate about enabling you to develop yourself and your career. A high percentage of our previous interns have progressed into discipline-specific internships and residencies. There are so many opportunities to progress into residency training across the group. Alternatively, we can support you to become a highly-skilled clinician and progress your career within primary care practice. Whatever path you choose, you will benefit from:
