Cytiva is seeking a passionate and dynamic individual to become our next Discovery Biacore & Reagents Sales Specialist. The Biacore Sales Specialist for Cytiva is responsible for the sales of Biacore instruments and consumables. You will work in tandem with a Biacore Field Application Specialist, who provides advanced technical support and training to customers, including running customer demonstrations. You will learn the fundamental of Biacore technology, sufficient to lead the sales process. You will own the sales funnel and lead complex sales negotiations for high value capital equipment. Working as part of a larger commercial team, you will have daily interaction with colleagues, including account managers and other specialists. What you will do:

  • Work with customers 60% of the time in the field. The customer base is life science customers working in the biotech, CDMO, pharma and academic segments. Product responsibility is Cytiva's prestigious Biacore range of surface plasmon resonance (SPR) systems for molecular interaction analysis, and their associated consumables. You will support customers working in pharmaceutical screening, characterization, process optimization, and quality control of small molecules and biotherapeutics, as well as academic users of SPR technology.
  • Through face-to-face meetings, you will understand customers' goals, build strong business relationships, and formulate account strategies to generate effective long-term partnerships.
  • Your daily work will be varied, including planning sales visits, conducting activities to generate new leads, and in combination with Biacore Applications support, running product demonstrations, training workshops, seminars, exhibitions, and promotional events.
  • Develop sales opportunities to create a sales funnel to meet business targets. Manage leads and prospects using Salesforce Lightning customer relationship management software. Analyse sales data to help decision making and territory planning. Prepare and participate in business reviews to ensure accurate flow of information within the sales team and sales management.
  • Be an ambassador for Cytiva, working with the highest levels of integrity and professionalism always. Focus on your personal development and career, supported with training, coaching and development opportunities.

    Experienced at managing a field sales territory, working regularly with customers in the field, including excellence with funnel management, prospecting, and sales negotiation.
  • University level degree in a Life Science related discipline, with the capacity to learn the fundamentals of Biacore technology.
  • Ability to travel is essential since the role is customer-facing with 60% of time in the field.
  • Be able to communicate with a customer-centric mindset, to balance the needs of the customer and Cytiva.
  • Self-starter able to manage time to organize and prioritise workload, with tenacity hunting for new business, managing sales prospects, and closing business.
  • It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Working in cross-functional teams.
  • Travel across a large sales territory, since this role covers half the UK plus Ireland.
