Full Job Description

We are looking for a Dispatch Manager to become a key member of our Knightsbridge Distribution Management team and to be responsible for all store deliveries being packed and dispatched within our agreed SLA's, across our day and night operations.

About the Role

You will be responsible for managing the Dispatch Operations team who are responsible for packing and processing customer deliveries to the highest standards and ensuring we are compliant with customs regulations.

Other key responsibilities include:

Leadership and Employee Development

Providing outstanding leadership for the team, setting clear direction and providing regular feedback.

Playing a key role in ensuring that team spirit and motivation is encouraged and always supported.
Ensuring that new recruits are supported to successfully complete their probation.
Identifying individual training requirements across the team and promoting continuous learning and development of the team, utilising all available Company resources.
Ensuring that the People Review process is followed so that each team member has objectives, a development plan and an annual performance review.
Actively coaching and developing direct reports.

Operational Excellence

Working closely with management colleagues in other areas of Distribution to ensure that the SLAs are adhered to and that KPIs are achieved.
Ensuring that Company policies are adhered to at all times.
Overseeing Housekeeping and Health and Safety standards within your area and ensure that they are maintained at all times.
Promoting excellent communication and practice professional working when interacting with colleagues and customers.
Encouraging support for other operations as a mechanism to streamline costs by promoting cross-training and assistance

Systems

Regularly reviewing procedures for improvements in efficiency and working practices, and to ensure that any recommendations are measured and implemented.
Ensuring that all systems and equipment issues (computers, printers, scanners, driver handsets, IShipper) are logged, followed up and escalated in a timely manner.
Ensuring that all relevant reports are updated within the agreed timescales.

You should be keen to develop and take on additional responsibility and challenges, as well as have a passion for distribution and the drive to provide the level of service excellence that Harrods is renowned for. You will also trust and mutually beneficial relationships with key stake holders across the business.
