Dispenser

Hedingham Medical Centre are looking to welcome an experienced dispenser into our busy practice, to deal with the day-to-day support for our rural general practice dispensary. This position is offered on a full or part-time basis, between 20 - 37.5 hours a week. If you are an experienced dispenser looking for an exciting new role, then we'd love to hear from you.,

• Process all relevant prescriptions and repeat prescriptions accurately and efficiently as authorised by GPs and prescribing nurses where appropriate in accordance with the principles of good practice.
• Assist the dispensary manager in ensuring effective financial control of the dispensary.
• Ensure that all medicines and appliances dispensed are checked against the prescription.
• Collect all due prescription charges.
• Process dossette boxes.
• Answer and deal with dispensary phone enquiries.
• Monitor patients exemption status.
• Sort and dispose of unwanted/returned medication.
• Any other duties to assist in the smooth day to day running of the dispensary and surgery as directed by the dispensary manager.
