The Dispute Resolution/Commercial Litigation Department undertakes the following services:
Commercial Litigation
+ Chancery Litigation
+ Injunctions - Worldwide and domestic freezing injunctions, proprietary injunctions, interlocutory prohibitory and mandatory injunctions
+ Civil fraud litigation
+ Shareholder and partner disputes
+ International joint venture disputes
+ Contractual disputes
+ Debt Recovery - Asset recovery and protection
+ Misrepresentation and misappropriation claims
+ Insolvency litigation
+ Professional negligence
+ Intellectual property disputes (trade mark, copyright, passing off and others)
+ Anti-trust/competition litigation
+ Mediation and other ADR
+ Defamation
+ Building/construction disputes
+ Civil litigation disputes
Property Litigation
+ Commercial lease renewals
+ Neighbour disputes
+ Boundary disputes
+ Breaches of covenant and easements
+ Tenants' rights to purchase and withholding of consent by landlords
+ Dilapidations and disrepair disputes
+ Service charge disputes
+ Business tenancy renewals
+ Rent reviews
+ Residential and commercial landlord & tenant possession claims

The department is based at our office in Whitechapel, London.
We have a strong commitment to the training of our staff. We deliver regular internal training courses for staff of all levels of experience. We meet as a department regularly to share knowledge, discuss case tactics and update on recent developments. At these meetings all members of the team are able to contribute to decisions in regard to the running of the department.

Paralegals
An induction programme will be provided which will introduce you to office systems and our virtual case management system.
We offer excellent training contract opportunities and we only recruit trainee solicitors from internal candidates.
Please note, while the post is based in Whitechapel, there may be occasions when you may need to go to our Clapham Junction office depending on a client's requirements., + Carrying out all allotted litigation casework, promptly and efficiently as delegated by the dispute resolution Partner and solicitor where appropriate.
+ Completing court bundles as directed, including collating papers and drafting indexes of papers.
+ Clerking court hearings.
+ Carrying out allocated administrative tasks such as, contacting barristers and experts for invoices and clients for instructions, arranging appointments and managing entries in solicitor's diaries.
+ Communicating clearly and regularly with clients, complying with 'client care' requirements.
+ Staffing the new client rota for the process of coordinating and administering the allocation of new client calls under the management of the Heads of Department. This includes taking details of potential new cases from individuals and referring agencies via telephone and email correspondence.
+ Keeping up to date with general legal developments.
+ Ensuring that time spent on all casework is promptly and accurately recorded.
+ Billing tasks for the administration of billing and liaising with the in-house billing team as delegated by the solicitor.
+ Undertaking appropriate administrative tasks in accordance with the Office Manual to help ensure smooth functioning of department and efficient casework and billing.

Desirable characteristics
+ Experience of case work and court proceedings in an organisation delivering Dispute Resolution/Commercial Litigation advice and triage of new enquiries within that organization
+ LPC qualification (or equivalent)

Working Hours
Full time - 35 hours per week: 9:30am-5:30pm Monday - Friday (alternative working arrangements including part-time hours will be considered).
