Full Job Description

We have one permanent opportunity and one 11 month fixed-term opportunity to join our team as a Distribution Administrator!

In this role, you’ll be responsible for undertaking desktop surveys for buried services information (usually covering buried pipe and cable assets), owned by both external utility companies and Network Rail. You’ll then support the distribution of these surveys to interested parties within the business.

These survey packs help support the effective delivery of design activities, maintenance work and safe construction practices across the national railway network.

You will research utility information using mapping applications and websites, liaising with our customers and external utility companies to help create and maintain an up-to-date picture of buried utility assets present on, or near, the railway.

You will be part of a team working in a busy and agile working environment., If you would like any reasonable adjustments support during your application or throughout the recruitment process, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will happily assist.

Below are some examples of adjustments we can make:
1. Changing a provision, practice or ‘the way things are done’
For example, we can give candidates extra time to complete online, tasks or interviews as needed.
2. Changing a physical feature of our workplace
For example, office/room layout can be adapted to accommodate individual needs.
3. Providing extra equipment or assistance
For example, we can provide sign language interpreters and support workers where needed. Alternative document formats can be made available.

There are lots of other adjustments we can consider – please just ask!

· be a confident self-starter with IT systems and applications, demonstrating a good level of experience with Microsoft Office software and PDF-related applications

· be able to display knowledge and experience of reading and interpreting maps to navigate to physical locations and identify objects of interest

The successful candidate will receive comprehensive training and ongoing support in the delivery of our services.
