Full Job Description

As a Distribution Team Leader, you will manage a small team who will ensure the smooth day-to-day running of our distribution function which organises transportation of our products to our customers.

This is a hands-on role, where you and your team will manage high volumes of orders, ensuring that arrangements for delivery are made with our third-party hauliers accurately and quickly.

As a Team Leader you will support and guide your direct reports, alongside resource planning to manage workload volumes, and always ensuring customer service excellence.

Duties also include:

Working closely with our production sites and ports storage locations
Attending meetings with the Logistics Development Manager to explore issues and propose solutions
Encourage a culture of continuous improvement within the team
Ensure our team and suppliers (hauliers) meet our Health & Safety standards
Day to day management of our 3PL suppliers/partners
Ensure the right vehicles are used to deliver our products to our customers
Hours of Work: 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday

You will be an experienced professional with at least 3 years' experience working within a Logistics role.

You will have experience of managing and leading a team, with a passion for coaching / supporting others.

You will also have:

a proactive approach to problem solving and enjoy working within a busy environment.
a working knowledge of SAP
excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
an understanding of Health & Safety requirements in distribution
strong IT skills, comfortable with Microsoft Office & SAP for processing orders
Desirable:

Knowledge of transport legislation (Drivers hours, vehicle weights, vehicle configuration)
Knowledge of heavy haulage planning and scheduling
