Full Job Description

The post holder will be working for Nottingham City Council, Enviroenergy department as the District Heating Contracts Manager responsible for overseeing and managing district heating contracts to ensure efficient service delivery across the district heating network. This includes coordinating on-site contractors to guarantee that projects are completed punctually, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key responsibilities involve leading procurement activities, negotiating, and securing contracts that align with Enviroenergy's operational and financial goals. The role also entails supporting commercial customer management, focusing on customer satisfaction, adherence to service agreements, and fostering long-term relationships. In close collaboration with internal teams, contractors, and customers, the Contracts Manager works to optimise the performance of the district heating system, supporting the company's sustainability and energy efficiency objectives.

  • Experience in contract management, procurement, or a related role within the energy, utilities, or construction industry.
  • Experience of client, subcontractor and supply chain management, preferably with working knowledge of standard forms of contract: NEC, JCT etc.
  • Experience / knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations and their application to construction activities.
  • Ability to demonstrate clear budget management competencies with a detailed knowledge of budget systems, monitoring and financial regulations.
  • PRINCE2 practitioner qualification or equivalent project management qualification.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective leadership skills, inspire, motivate and lead by personal example.
  • Experience of handling conflict and managing sensitive issues to achieve positive outcomes., Disability Confident
