Full Job Description
There will also be opportunities for the Divisional Directors to lead each Division's research and educational activities and pursue optimum working relationships with the Universities, Biomedical Research Centre (BRC)/BRU and the Health Innovation Network. As a Divisional Director, you will be a committed, motivated and engaged member of the senior leadership team, with strong clinical experience working to support the Executive Team and determined to deliver world class and compassionate services to all our patients, users and stakeholders. - Professionally qualified and clinically credible with a post-registration qualification
- Have knowledge of the NHS, its infrastructure and the recent reforms Desirable criteria
- Postgraduate management/ further study qualification, Experience of working within the NHS within a hospital environment, preferably a teaching hospital
- Experience in managing clinical services
- Knowledge and understanding of clinical governance gained from experience of working with such systems
- Have a personal vision for the future of clinical services, developed in the context of credible past experience, personal beliefs and the Trust's strategy, combined with the ability to inspire others and translate strategic objectives into operational plans
- Clear in-depth understanding of one of the Trust's key corporate strategic priorities (urgent care, elective care, cancer, partnerships)
- Experience of building and developing high performing teams
- Proven ability to communicate, work effectively with and influence a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally Desirable criteria
- Experience of change management
- Experience of working within a devolved management structure, Have the capacity to analyse problems in a logical and structure way, generating optional and innovative solutions and adapting approaches to problem-solving to achieve sustainable outcomes
- Be able to anticipate problems, to understand the driving forces behind problems, or potential problems and being able to identify and use levers to achieve change
- Be skilled in influencing and negotiating internally and externally and using these skills to gain the best deal for the Trust and the clinical services
- Have the ability to understand and interpret clinical decisions for others and make informed judgements concerning clinical priorities
