Full Job Description

The Divisional Medical Workforce Improvement Manager is a critical role that sits as part of the Surgery & Cancer Divisional Office. This role will be responsible for all medical workforce improvement programmes including the management of all medical workforce planning and resourcing activities across all medical grades. They will work with a wide variety of clinicians, senior managers, internal corporate departments and external agencies to ensure safe, sustainable and compliant medical workforce models across all services in the Division.
The Divisional Medical Workforce Improvement Manager will work closely with the Divisional Director (DD) and other Divisional Directors in Surgery & Cancer (including Operations, Nursing, People and Finance) to provide assurance at a divisional level that the medical workforce is compliant in relation to job planning, appraisals, core skills, rota creation and management, and all activities relating to the support and experiences of doctors in training across the Division. This includes supporting the delivery of critical national deadlines relating to safe and compliant rotas and work schedule productions as well as supporting the on-boarding and inductions across each speciality for those rotating throughout the year., + The Divisional Medical Workforce Improvement Manager will work closely with the Divisional Director (DD) and other Divisional Directors in Surgery & Cancer (including Operations, Nursing, People and Finance) to provide assurance at a divisional level that the medical workforce is compliant in relation to job planning, appraisals, core skills, rota creation and management, and all activities relating to the support and experiences of doctors in training across the Division. + Working in partnership with the General Managers and Clinical Directors for each Directorate, this role will provide expert knowledge and insight on all issues relating to medical workforce and will assist in developing, supporting and implementing plans for improvement, ensuring that services and the associated staffing plans and rotas have the required capacity to meet key workforce standards. This role will be crucial in ensuring the correct levels of compliance, governance and controls are in place in relation to temporary staffing, rota compliance and other key metrics such as training compliance and attendance management.
