A Vacancy at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Following a successful 12 month secondment, the Surgery, Critical & Emergency Care Division are appointing a substantive Divisional Nurse Director. The Surgical, Critical & Emergency Care (SCEC) division includes the Emergency Department, multiple inpatient wards which provide emergency and planned care, outpatient clinics, 29 theatres, Critical Care Complex, Day procedure and the Same Day Emergency Care Unit. We provide care to patients within the Norfolk and Norwich University hospital and at Cromer hospital. The Surgery, Critical and Emergency Care Division are seeking to appoint a forward thinking and dynamic Leader, with extensive experience in an acute hospital environment. Reporting to the Chief of Division, the Divisional Nurse Director will work in partnership with the Chief of Division and Divisional Operations Director. The three roles have operational accountability for the workforce, service delivery, clinical quality and safety and financial control, and the implementation of the NNUH's strategy. Together as a team post holders will be responsible for defining divisional objectives to meet corporate goals, and ensuring that quality standards are met and performance addressed where this is not the case. The Divisional Nurse Director is the owner of and is accountable for key hospital and in some cases system wide: quality, safety, clinical effectiveness, infection control, risk management, patient experience and engagement & workforce objectives. The Divisional Nurse Director will provide strong divisional leadership, as well as Trust and system wide, balancing strategic plans with quality, safety, workforce and operational needs and will drive quality and service improvement to achieve the best clinical quality and patient outcomes possible. The Divisional Nurse Director will support the delivery of the highest quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service and is expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate NNUH's 'P.R.I.D.E.' values of People focused, Respect, Dedication, Integrity and Excellence. Ensure the Division meets the Trust Quality Priorities, clinical governance, and professional accountability agreements in accordance with the NMC / HCPC, Divisional corporate objectives and delivery programmes in relation to all clinical quality regulatory recommendations. Using a patient centred approach, work in partnership with colleagues, partner organisations and stakeholders to develop service improvement plans, to ensure service improvement targets are delivered.

To work with the COD and DoD in providing strong, clear visionary leadership to the whole directorate through team working to ensure effective operational management and delivery of the service. 2. To be responsible for hospital-wide compliance of national clinical quality, safety, and patient experience standards, risk management, IPC and improving patient outcomes. 3. Lead the development of the strategy for the Division and ensure the staff are fully engaged and supported in improvement, governance, safety, patient and staff experience matters and research is at the heart of every service. 4. Contribute to the NNUH's strategic aims and ensure the achievement of strategic objectives/deliverables, including the Patient Safety Strategy, the Patient Experience Strategy, The Education Strategy and the Chief Nurse 5-year Strategy for Nurses, Midwives and Clinical Professionals 5. Lead responsibility for developing and co-ordinating the Clinical Governance, Safety and Quality Improvement planning for the division, including workforce, advanced practice strategy, financial and service improvement to ensure the best possible clinical outcomes.
