The Divisional Operational Director is acoremember of thedivisionaltriumvirate leadership team.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will work closely withthe Divisional Clinical Director andDivisionalHead of Nursing,withshared accountability for the leadership, management, and continuous improvement of the Division.

You will haveevidenced experience of your leadership and your impactacross a broad portfolioincludingstrategy,planningand transformation;business,peopleandfinancial management;performance and operationsmanagement; andrisk management, clinical, qualityandservice improvement.You will champion development ofcolleagues, belonging and inclusion,andwill motivate and inspire colleagues by role modelling our Proud to CARE values., Accountable to the Chief Operating Officer, the Divisional Operational Director will managerially lead the Divisional Clinical Director, Divisional Head of Nursing, Divisional Leadership Team, andService Managers in delivering this purpose.

A key dimension will be to support theDivisionalClinical Directorand Divisional Head of Nursingin engagingtheclinicaland administrative teamsin the complex management agenda including preparationfor theannualoperational planning roundand the development ofcapacityand capability to deliver both local and national priorities.

TheDivisional Operational Director is also a key member of the Trust's Leadership Team and willbe requiredto lead on Trust Wide programmes of work, as well as deputising andrepresentingthe Chief Operating Officer at meetings internally and externally to the Trust.

We are advertising for two pivotal roles:

1. Divisional Operational Director - Medicine and Emergency Care

2. Divisional Operational Director - Surgery

TheDivisional Operational Directoris a key member of the triumvirate leadership team foreachDivision. Working with the Divisional Clinical Director andDivisionalHead of Nursing, you will haveshared accountabilityfor the leadership, management, and continuous improvementofthe Division.This will include accountability for high quality patient careandsafety, the delivery of agreed performance and financialobjectives, and ensuring thatthe Division aligns, and positively contributes, to the Trust's strategic aims andobjectives.

There are four Clinical Divisions in the Trust, Medicine and Emergency Care, Surgery, Family Care, and Diagnostics, Clinical Support and Cancer (DCSC). In respect of Medicine and Surgery, each are led by a Divisional Operational Director supported by a triumvirate team and wider Divisional Leadership Team.

The Medicine and Emergency Care Division is our largest Division, with a budget of approximately £81m and over 1100 colleagues. The Division is made up of 3 Care Units: Acute Medicine, Speciality Medicine, and General Medicine, which deliver a variety of high-quality, high-demand services to the population of Chesterfield and North Derbyshire.

The Surgery Division is our second largest Division, with a budget of approximately £74m and over 1000 colleagues. The Division is made up of 4 Care Units: Head and Neck, General Surgery and Breast, Orthopaedics and Urology, and Surgical Support, which deliver a variety of high-quality, high-demand services to the population of Chesterfield and North Derbyshire.
