Full Job Description
The purpose of this job is to provide quantitative analytical support for DMPK studies of novel chemical entities.
- Work independently to develop LC-MS bioanalytical methods and carry out determination of small molecules in a range of pre-clinical biological matrices.
- Generate key pharmacokinetic parameters as required with appropriate quality checking and provide draft reports for DMPK project leads.
- Complete experimental records in an ELN ensuring compliance with the Client's data integrity standards.
- Troubleshoot issues with both assays and equipment and liaise with external engineers as required.
- Interact with Client scientists and CRO partners as appropriate to ensure management of workloads.
- Help lead the development of automated processes for sample tracking and analysis, and data processing/reporting to realise productivity gains.
- Support more junior colleagues, by providing hands-on practical mentorship.
- Participate in other DMPK tasks as required.
Educated to degree level in Biochemistry or equivalent. - Experience performing working non-GLP bioanalysis within a DMPK Drug Discovery environment would be desirable.
- Team members are required to work to tight timelines, with a flexible approach and the ability to change priorities at short notice.
- Experience in LC-MS/MS bioanalysis of small molecules in various biological matrices would be ideal.
- Exposure in the use of automated liquid handling systems including some basic method development capabilities.
- Ability to work using fully electronic media using Microsoft office applications and electronic notebook systems.
- Additionally, experience of using PK study software such as Watson LIMS, Phoenix/ WinNonLin to generate basic PK parameters would be ideal.
- Good team player, flexible, organized and accurate.
- Good organisational skills to ensure on-time delivery of quality data.
- Ability to quickly learn new processes. Works proactively to offer suggestions for new ways to improve existing processes.
- Ability to work on own initiative and be capable of developing solutions to problems as part of a team.
- Good communication skills both internally and externally. Must be able to communicate documents or concepts to co-workers or clients independently.
- Ability to form strong working relationships with colleagues.

This is a permanent, full time position. Working a flexible 37 hour week, Monday - Friday.
