Full Job Description
As one of our Dock Assistants, you will be responsible for assisting with the transfer of catering from dispatch to loading the dock, checking trucks with catering loads and ensuring all items are loaded prior to sealing, and vehicles are sealed to CAA regulations
You will be also accountable for front gate vehicle access control, including off load vehicle control, newspapers are sorted for all airlines and excess equipment is cleared from loading dock at regular intervals, with a strong focus on quality and consistency whilst working to tight deadlines., Assist with the loading and unloading of catering carts, trolleys, and equipment from delivery vehicles to the aircraft or designated storage areas.
Ensure that all items are handled carefully to prevent damage and that they are loaded/unloaded according to the schedule.
Assist in the preparation, packing, and labeling of catering items, ensuring that all food, beverages, and equipment meet airline specifications.
Check that all items are present, correctly packed, and organised for efficient loading.
Inspect catering carts and equipment for cleanliness, completeness, and compliance with safety standards.
Report any discrepancies, damaged items, or safety concerns to the Shift Manager/ Supervisor immediately.
Assist in monitoring inventory levels of catering supplies and report any shortages or excesses to the Supervisor.
Help organise and maintain the dock and storage areas, ensuring they are clean, orderly, and free of hazards.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of food items and the use of protective equipment.
Coordinate with drivers, loaders, and other team members to ensure that all catering deliveries are completed on time.
Communicate any issues or delays promptly to the Supervisor.
Assist in maintaining accurate records of deliveries, inventory, and other relevant documentation as required by the Supervisor.
Ensure that all paperwork is completed and submitted accurately and on time.
You must have a flexible and enthusiastic approach to work
Be able to work as part of a team in a fast- moving environment
You must also maintain a clean and safe workstation, working in a manner that promotes good health and safety practices.
You should also be willing to undertake manual handling, including bending, pushing and reaching
