Full Job Description

Overall responsibility for the effective management, controlling and distribution of all Information and documentation to meet the HS2 and SCS Document Management requirements for the respective delivery unit. The Document Control Lead reports to the SCS Document Control Manager functionally and the Assurance & Compliance Lead in Delivery Unit Euston.,

  • Responsible for leading the Area Euston Document Control team, including briefing, training and guidance of the delivery unit team and subcontractors on the SCS Document management system and standards.
  • Accountable for the management of in time document submissions in accordance with the HS2 Information Delivery Plan (IDP) within the HS2 eB system.
  • Ensuring that all the information and documents are compliant with the requirements and set Plans, including liaison with the originators for discrepancies and amendments.
  • Recording of receipt of the key documents and Information at key stages against the Deliverables Schedule as directed
  • Accountable for reviewing of the current and superseded information archives on a regular basis and ensuring that all are in accordance with the HS2 and SCS archiving processes.
  • Responsible for liaison with the Requirements Manager, Reporting Manager and Change Management for received information and document changes within the delivery unit.
  • Maintaining of the web-based document control software AssetWise (ALIM), eB, EMT, Zutec, CEMAR, or similar, including regular checks that all documents and information are correctly logged and correct issues apparent as directed.
  • Ensuring collaborative working, the right behaviours and culture within the team and with HS2, subcontractors and any other third parties
  • Liaising with the Document Control Manager to employ competent Document Control staff, as well as to ensure EDI within the Document Control team and to maintain required resources within the team., You'll be a welcomed member of the wider team, with opportunities to take on additional responsibility, join one of our networks for women, military or LGBT+ staff, and participate in cultural and social events with the local community (e.g. as a STEM ambassador).

Develop a culture of safety on the project through the absolute commitment to the Zero Accidents target and ethos, and develops a wider awareness of quality, environmental issues and demonstrates commitment to achieve continual improvement and Zero tolerance.

  • HNC or equivalent
  • Prior experience in civil engineering projects of similar nature in a Document Control function.
  • Prior experience of managing a Document Control is essential
  • Knowledge of the requirements and management systems procedures in accordance with ISO 9001: 2008 or ISO 9001:2015, A physical or mental impairment, which has a substantial and long-term effect (over 12 months) adverse effect on your ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities
  • Demonstrated in your application and pre-interview stage that you meet the minimum job criteria and person specification for the role

    The role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK's new high speed rail network. It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK's 10 biggest cities with fast, reliable and frequent high speed services
  • The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
