Full Job Description

Our Dog Operations team is responsible for delivering the highest standards of animal welfare and care for every dog in their journey through Battersea, from intake, to their care and assessments and then to rehoming. This opportunity sits within our Dog Intake team, where you will be responsible for coordinating the calls and enquiries received to the intake lines, answering questions, and explaining Battersea's intake policies and procedures to customers. You will ensure that animals are scheduled and brought into Battersea efficiently and in line with operational requirements, with support from Intake Team Leaders. We are looking for someone to deliver a high quality of customer service and support over the telephone to customers, whilst adhering to our vulnerable people and safeguarding policies.

At Battersea, we are committed to developing and supporting a diverse workforce and inclusive culture in all aspects of our organisation. We aim to ensure that this pledge, reinforced by our values, is embedded in our day-to-day working practices and our work together.

In return for your commitment to our cause and to recognise the value of our employees, Battersea offers a range of benefits to support the wellbeing of our employees. These include:

  • 28 days of annual leave (plus 8 days paid public holidays) per year
  • Discounted gym memberships and cycle to work schemes
  • Employee Assistance Programme and access to Wellbeing Resources
  • Generous pension contributions - up to 10% employer contribution
  • Free healthcare cash plan, where you can claim for a range of treatment including dental, optical, physiotherapy, chiropody and acupuncture every year
  • Annual interest-free season ticket loans
  • We are also committed to providing learning and development to our employees. During your time with us, we provide support for your professional and career development, including access to digital and in-person training programmes, leadership and management training, mentoring and much more. Working with our dogs and cats: We are here for every dog and cat. Within our operational roles, this means providing the highest level of care and husbandry to our animals. Every day will be different and will sometimes involve emotionally challenging situations. Battersea has created an ethos of open conversations and carefully curated wellbeing initiatives to support our employees handling these scenarios. It is also important to note that the role is very physical and does involve a lot of manual tasks which are required to provide the exceptional standards of care to our animals. We ask you consider these aspects of the role carefully before applying. Diversity and inclusion
