Full Job Description

We currently have an exciting vacancy within our team to enable us to continue to build on our success and also bring new experience, knowledge and ideas into the team. As a Domestic Abuse Co-ordinator, you will have a real opportunity to make a difference to people affected by domestic abuse across Trafford. You will be able to help develop strategies, and co-ordinate plans by working in partnership with others to make a real tangible difference.

You will also support the work of the Community Safety Team by developing approaches to tackling violence and abuse against women and girls., Flexibility will be required to work outside core hours on an ad hoc basis to support events.

As the role is based within Stretford Police Station in the Community Safety Team, it will be a requirement of this role to pass Police Vetting.

You will have flexibility in terms of hybrid working at home and in the office where possible.

We are looking to appoint someone who has the passion and tenacity to raise awareness around these important issues, and embed learning into practice. You will need to have a good working knowledge of the legislation as it relates to domestic abuse and an understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse and violence against women and girls.

You must possess good verbal and written communication skills and be able to work proactively and collaboratively with a range of partners and stakeholders as well as being able to keep accurate records.

With the Business Support Officer, you will also help to prepare for, and facilitate relevant meetings including the Domestic Abuse Partnership Board and co-ordinate domestic homicide reviews and therefore excellent organisational skills are essential.

Working with colleagues in Public Health, you will provide a key role in the development and commissioning of services, overseeing contract arrangements and providing funding returns.
