Full Job Description

As part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding, we have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and compassionate nurse with expertise in domestic abuse and serious violence to join our highly motivated and dynamic Safeguarding Team.

The successful candidate will work within the Interpersonal Violence Team and undertake a range of key duties to support and act as point of expertise relating to the MARAC (Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference) and MAPPA (Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements processes across Birmingham and Solihull .

They will work closely with the Designated Professionals for Safeguarding Adults and Children in developing and promoting effective relationships with primary care, partners and providers by working collaboratively to ensure services are fit for purpose in meeting the needs of the community now and into the future with a view to supporting all citizens affected by domestic violence., The post holder will attend the Birmingham and Solihull MARAC meetings for victims, perpetrators and children of Interpersonal Violence, sharing appropriate health information with professionals, primary care and the wider health economy, liaising with the MAPPA / MARAC teams for Birmingham and Solihull as appropriate.

They will act as a point of expertise relating to serious violence processes within the Safeguarding Team, the ICB and across the health economy, encompassing the safeguarding agendas for adults and children.

Effective liaison and communication is an integral part of this role which will include regular contacts with others by telephone, video conference and face to face meetings. An ability to analyse and present complex information in a variety of mediums is essential. You will also require excellent organisational skills and a sound, working knowledge of MS office packages such as Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook.
