Full Job Description

A vacancy has arisen for a Domestic Assistant to join our East Riding Community Hospital team within Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for staff that are enthusiastic, motivated and have good interpersonal and communication skills to work as part of our teams. The post will assist in maintaining a clean and hygienic environment for patients, trust staff, and visitors in line with the National Standards of Cleanliness, by delivering a full cleaning service within the centre. Shifts will be every Monday to Wednesday 5-9pm, and alternate weekends 7am-12., Generally,cleanerswill all undertake the followingcleaning tasksanddutiesduring adomesticclean :

  • High and low-level dusting.
  • Cleaningof bedrooms and bathrooms.
  • Cleaningof offices and communal spaces.
  • Dusting and polishing of shelves, picture frames, units etc.

  • 2 GCSEs / O levels English and Maths or demonstrable experience
  • Knowledge of HACCP and COSHH
  • Understanding of current Food Safety Legislation
  • Desirable
  • Understanding of health promotion through healthy eating
  • Experience Essential
  • Previous working experience with HACCP and COSHH
  • Working knowledge of keeping track of cleaning materials
  • Desirable
  • Previous experience of cleaning
  • Previous experience working mental Health / Community Services or similar environment
  • Skills and Competencies Essential
  • Team player as well as being able to work on your own
  • Confident, adaptable, and flexible in approach to working practices
  • Desirable
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the needs of people with mental health problems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and be able to prioritise / meet deadlines.
