Full Job Description

An exciting position has arisen for an experienced Domestic Supervisor to join our Facilities Department here at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The Domestic Supervisor will oversee, manage, train and develop their team to deliver domestic services across the Trust in order to maintain a safe clean environment, following direction from the Domestic Services management team and working in line with the National Cleaning Standards 2021.
The post-holder will also be required to:
+ Work within the Soft Services Team, carrying out their duties effectively and efficiently in accordance with service requirements
+ Develop good relationships with the other Trust teams including clinical and non-clinical colleagues
+ Follow Health, Safety and Quality procedures within the course of the role and ensure that the Domestic Services Team are always performing their duties within the correct guidelines
+ Successfully undertake the training requirements specific to this role., + Responsible for completing weekly rosters accurately and in time, to ensure all wards & departments in your area are covered for all the shifts required including holiday, bank holiday & absence cover
+ Managing sickness and absence including conducting return to work meetings and first level absence management meetings in line with Trust policy
+ Managing teams annual leave to ensure it is booked and authorised in line with DSG departmental policy
+ Monitor teams and identify training needs, reporting these needs to the training co-ordinator and releasing team members to attend training as and when required
+ Ensure that all new starters have undergone induction training and basic skills training and are competent to carry out all duties required
+ Carry out Toolbox Talks and ensure all admin is handed in on time
+ Report accidents and near misses in line with Trust Policy and raise DATIX
+ Carry out cleaning audits in line with agreed schedule and NHS Cleaning Standards 2021 & ensure that rectifications/recommendations from cleaning audits are completed accurately and in time
+ To liaise with clinical teams, departmental heads and DSG management to ensure the best possible service delivery and that expectations are being managed or met
+ To support the rapid response team by checking and signing off infectious cleans and Glosair processes when needed
