Full Job Description

A lively, energetic, and fit Personal Assistant is required to.
Support a man with a mild learning disability to pursue his interests independent of family .
The support is for 10 hours a week, worked flexibly as agreed with the employer.
His interests include Cycling, walking, climbing, swimming and most outdoor activities, he is adventurous and enjoys life , he is polite ,has a good sense of humour , and is a pleasure to work with, he is looking for a support worker who is physically fit and enjoys similar interests

This post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme and is intended to enable this gentleman to manage his support independently.

Main Duties:
Ensure the gentleman's personal safety at all times during your working period.
Provide support and encouragement and to encourage his independence.
Support and encourage him to engage in activities that he enjoys such as swimming and climbing.
Encourage his socialisation as much as possible, including trips out to local activities and places of interest.
To support with any other activities of interest.
To carry out any other reasonable requests that the employer may make from time to time., This vacancy is being advertised on behalf of an individual employer. You will be employed by that individual and not Ceredigion County Council. To apply for this job please complete the application form.

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.
Wages will be paid in arrears on a 4 weekly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.
You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.
You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
