Full Job Description

I am a lady in my sixties living in Caewern, I am a petite lady and use a wheelchair. I have cerebral palsy and rheumatoid arthritis which can cause me pain. Due to my mobility issues, I require support using a bath hoist, but I try to be as independent with my personal care as possible. I do however also require support when washing my hair. I like watching soaps on TV and knitting occasionally but generally dislike arts and crafts. I enjoy a cigarette and like to go out in my car to access the community with my PA.

Purpose
Helping me get out and about into the community in my car.
Occasionally supporting me to attend appointments.
Some support with my personal care.
Any other reasonable duties.
Person Type
A person who

Is outgoing, chatty and who has a good sense of humour.
Someone reliable and trustworthy.
Someone who can work flexibly.
Someone with a positive attitude to this type of work.
Someone who will treat me with dignity and respect.
Car driver essential.
Previous experience would be an advantage.
Hours
4 hours per week, 11:00 - 15:00 - to be worked on a Thursday.

This post may require a DBS check (the cost of which will be met by NPTCBC). If this post requires you to work with children then it is compulsory for you to have a DBS check prior to commencement.

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.

Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly or monthly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.

You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.

You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
