Full Job Description

Do you have a good knowledge of highways drainage systems? Do you want to take a key role maintaining a large network of assets? If so, this is your opportunity to be part of our team, maintaining the Council's highways drainage assets and managing highways flood risk in the Borough. This is a role in Telford & Wrekin Council's Drainage & Flood Risk Team helping to manage our highways drainage assets. We use a risk-based gully maintenance programme so you will help to manage this and work closely with our Term Service Contractor, using systems like Confirm and Kaarbontech. You will have a strong customer focus and be able to work quickly and efficiently to solve problems and communicate solutions to internal and external parties, working to identify capital improvement schemes to manage highways flood risk.

We are looking for degree qualified candidates with demonstrable experience of drainage maintenance in a Local Authority setting. You will be involved in all aspects of Highways Drainage Maintenance including and reactive maintenance and customer and contractor liaison. You will be able to use drainage software, have experience working as a designer and supervisor for drainage schemes and have experience in NEC3. You must be able to provide your own transport with insurance for business use to allow travel to sites and to respond to issues. You will work in a team of engineers and flood risk officers on a variety of tasks in the Borough and will deliver a package of schemes as part of the Council's investment programme to Protect, Care and Invest in our Borough. You should be and able to work autonomously for extended periods of time and in all weather conditions.
