We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Drama Teacher & Performing Arts Coordinator to join our dedicated team. Ability to teach GCSE Drama and LAMDA essential. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing the performing arts program at Buckswood, ensuring that students have opportunities to explore and excel in drama, music, and dance. The Performing Arts Coordinator will collaborate with staff, students, and external partners to create a thriving and inclusive performing arts community within the school.

Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development:

Design and implement a comprehensive and engaging performing arts curriculum that aligns with national standards and school objectives.

Foster a balance between theoretical knowledge and practical skills, encouraging students to explore their creativity and express themselves through various performing arts disciplines.

Program Management:

Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the school's performing arts program, including theatrical productions, musical performances, and dance showcases.

Schedule and manage rehearsals, performances, and other related events, ensuring smooth coordination between students, staff, and external contributors.

Staff Collaboration:

Work closely with teachers and residential staff to provide support, guidance, and professional development opportunities.

Foster a collaborative and supportive environment among staff members to encourage interdisciplinary projects and cross-curricular connections.

Student Engagement:

Organise, deliver and facilitate workshops, masterclasses, and extracurricular activities to enhance students' skills and passion for the performing arts.

Create a positive and inclusive environment that encourages students of all skill levels to participate and excel in performing arts activities.

Community Outreach:

Develop relationships with local arts organisations, artists, and professionals to enrich the performing arts program and provide unique opportunities for students.

Collaborate with parents and the wider community to showcase and celebrate student achievements in the performing arts.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Performing Arts, Drama, Music, or a related field.

Previous experience in coordinating performing arts programs in an educational setting.

Strong organisational and communication skills.

Passion for fostering creativity and a love for the performing arts in students.
