Driver / Laboratory Assistant

Kent Scientific Services is recruiting a Van Driver/Laboratory Assistant to work from its laboratory at Kings Hill, West Malling in Kent.

The post involves driving one of our light vans to collect and deliver samples for analysis at various locations in the South and Southeast of England, together with carrying out laboratory based tasks in support of our team of scientists performing testing for official food and metrology controls.

This work will require liaison with our clients who include local authorities, businesses and pathology staff at hospitals. An excellent level of customer service is required.

This role is subject to holding a full UK Driving Licence. Applications are invited from people who have a clean, current driving licence, have a flexible approach to their work and who can provide the level of customer service our clients have a right to expect.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
