Full Job Description

Undertake a wide range of general duties on both void and responsive works, including clearing, cleaning and cleansing of properties, assisting two-person jobs to include mixing for wet trades, footing ladders, collecting of materials and any other reasonable request from colleagues or Managers

-To be responsible for the safe disposal of waste/debris/unwanted items, as required, and in accordance with waste disposal regulations

-To comply with British Standards, manufacturers requirements, specifications, legislation, policy and procedures when supporting repair and maintenance works

-Collect the necessary materials from stores to enable works to be carried out in a single visit

-Ensure all work is carried out safely, in accordance with STAR Housing Code of Conduct with respect to our tenants and their homes whenever working inside or outside the property

-Carry out works to the requirements and obligations to the HASAW Act 1974 and STAR Housing related Health and safety policies. Wear appropriate clothing, ID, uniform and PPE for specific tasks

-Provide an excellent level of customer service - be respectful, positive, polite, on time and listen to the needs of the tenant

-Maintain a high level of cleanliness at all times by the use of dust sheets and /or boot covers and leave properties in a clean, compliant and safe condition

-Complete all paperwork after each job promptly and accurately detailing materials used, works carried out and any other repairs required for the completion whilst in the property

-Maintain van stocks to the correct level at all times and keep and maintain all tools provided in good condition

-Prior to the commencement of your first job of the day undertake daily vehicle checks using the DVSA Van walkaround checklist

-Ensure that your vehicle is maintained to a high level of cleanliness and any damage / disrepair is immediately reported to your Repairs Supervisor

-To attend any training as required by your Manager including (but not limited to) tool box talks, safeguarding and health and safety requirements

-Report any safeguarding concerns that you whilst working at the property or its surrounds to your Line Manager or other nominated persons

-To use a mobile device to accept jobs, plan and schedule and sign off works when completed for inspection

-Carry out any other reasonable duties within the boundaries of your role that may be required as the service develops
