Full Job Description
At Bath & North East Somerset Council we have one overriding purpose - to improve people's lives.
Would you like a varied and rewarding role, supporting people and working in a team? If so, we would love to hear from you.
Our day services support people who have Learning Disabilities and/or Autism with high levels of need. This is an opportunity to be part of a service which makes a real difference to the lives of those people and their families.
About the Role
Our transport service is based from our day services. We operate a fleet of vehicles to collect people from the local community and bring them to our service, where they will have activities and support. Transport is staffed by drivers accompanied by transport escorts drawn from our team of support workers.
There are AM and PM transport runs, in between driving duties you will be assisting in groups or as 1-1 support, completing care tasks such as personal care or assistance at mealtimes and generally helping the support workers to deliver a great service for the people who come to us. Drivers have a break during the day to ensure they have sufficient rest between driving duties.
You can expect:
A comprehensive induction
Regular supervision
A supportive team around you
A full training programme
Specific vehicle competency checks and relevant training (where relevant for driving duties)
