Drivers Mate

Pay Rate: £28,864.86 Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time) Shift patterns: Monday to Friday, starting at 6am (can vary to start between 4am-8am) Location: Wakefield - WF3 1SP DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Driver's Mate to play a vital role in our distribution service. WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL? As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will:

• work alongside our warehouse team, coordinating the loading of alcohol onto your assigned vehicle prior to delivery
• delivery of kegs of beer to pubs and clubs, delivering the product down flights of stairs and to cellars
• the role is physically demanding
• accompany a driver to delivery points where you will assist with unloading deliveries to licensed premises
• maintain regular contact with the Transport team and advise of all problems which may prevent the job being completed on time and without incident

• High levels of manual handling are required so you need to be physically fit
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workload
• Ability to read, understand and follow directions/instructions
• Ability to count accurately and to perform simple maths calculations
• Previous practical experience as a Driver's Mate, within a logistics or similar environment would be preferable
