Full Job Description

  • engage in project sprints, handling tasks of different complexities and implementing features according to project requirements
  • troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise
  • ensure all code adheres to coding best practice and fits into the software development lifecycle
  • drive development of Walsall Council's Drupal Content Management System (CMS) and integration into digital deliverables.
  • collaborate closely with stakeholders at all levels to address issues, answer questions and provide advice and guidance

    Walsall Council is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Drupal developer to play a key role in revolutionising our website and digital services.
  • Our ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge and familiarity with PHP, HTML5 and CSS. They will be familiar with Drupal configuration and understand Drupal distributions such a Local Gov. We are active within the Local Gov Drupal and Digital forums and value candidates who are engaged within the community. Our ideal candidate will either start with, or be able to gain, skills across the Microsoft platform including Microsoft Forms and Power BI. They will easily be able to learn skills in other CMS software, such as DNN.,
  • proficiency in CMS solutions and Microsoft Power Platform (Power automate, Power BI), SharePoint and Azure DevOps.
  • strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • experience in software development, with programming languages like PHP, Twig, SQL, HTML and CSS preferred.
  • excellent communication skills with a customer-centric approach.
