Duty Manager - YHA Broad Haven

The Role: Supporting Excellence in Hostel Operations As a Duty Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the management of an operational budget and the delivery of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). You will also be engaged in various customer-facing duties across the hostel, ensuring all guests and visitors have an outstanding YHA experience.,

• Guiding and supporting team members working in all areas of the hostel, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
• Utilising our systems for efficient guest check-ins, check-outs and other management functions.
• Carrying out cleaning and housekeeping duties, maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for our guests.
• Assisting in the kitchen and serving food and drinks with warmth and hospitality, enhancing the dining experience, while engaging in authentic, inclusive conversations. Suggesting enjoying dinner with us or offering a beverage or dessert as you assist with table service, ensuring a diverse and welcoming experience for all guests.
• Deputising for the Hostel/Deputy Manager, managing the daily hostel operation in their absence.
  
  Our Duty Manager role requires flexibility to cover different shifts and tasks. While prior experience in a face-to-face customer service role is an advantage, it's not essential. However, experience in hospitality or customer service, especially in managing and delivering high-quality service, is highly beneficial.
Desirable qualifications include Food Safety Level 2 and APLH Level 2, but they are not mandatory. Essential requirements include experience in managing varying pressures, including significant workload demands, and team management. We highly value lived experiences just as much as previous skills and knowledge. We offer a comprehensive induction, ongoing training, and further development. We are looking to recruit a Duty Manager for 25 hours per week. This is initially a fixed term 12 month role with the possibility of becoming permanent. YHA Broad Haven is a small hostel based on the gorgeous Pembrokeshire coastline a short drive away from the main town.
