Full Job Description

  • Provide initial security management response to any/all accidental or incidental situations which may occur on the DB estate.

  • Direct management of all rostered security officers and supervisors on the DB estate including the maintenance of basic discipline.

  • Day to day management of all security staff onsite, with the exception of the SOC/SCR.

  • Respond to and implement emergency procedures as detailed in Key Operating Procedures (KOP's) in the event of a security or life safety incident.

  • Ensure timely and effective escalation of information to Operations/CBRE or Corporate Security manager as required.

  • Manage succession training for all operational and supervisory personnel to ensure robust resilience in the event of absence.

  • In conjunction with the Resource Scheduler, ensure that adequate and effective staffing levels are maintained across the core shift personnel, reporting where necessary, any shortfall or potential areas of weakness to the Operations Manager.

  • Identifying any weakness or areas of development from supervisory staff and reporting this to the Operations Manager.

  • Maintain up to date records of core personnel key skills and competencies to ensure that adequate cover is available for the effective cover of control room duties should it be required.

  • Carry out staff performance appraisals annually in line with both MITIE and Security Industry requirements.

  • Ensure that all security staff under your responsibility receives adequate and appropriate training/familiarisation to allow both professional and personal development by way of referral and recommendation to the Operations Manager.

  • Make initial assessment of risk and vulnerability regarding any/all additional cover posts and activities, reporting any potential weakness to the Operations Manager.

  • Initially resolve any potential weakness identified in the additional cover risk assessment until such time as the risk can be mitigated or eradicated.

  • Attend any tenant/landlord or client related meeting or function on behalf of the Operations Manager

  • Assist with the management of any HR issues requiring action on the Deutsche Bank contract as directed by and in conjunction with the Operations Manager, inclusive of formal interviews, investigations and disciplinaries.

  • Carry out estate wide key audits as required to ensure a robust key management process is effective.

  • Carry out regular post visits throughout each shift (a minimum of 2 whole site visits) to ensure management oversight and security officers adherence to Assignment Instructions (A.I's).

  • Remain vigilant at all times to safeguard the security of all personnel and assets within each DB premises.

  • Deal with the client and the client's staff in a professional, effective and customer engaging manner.

  • At all times ensure that the building(s) under your care are well presented, clean and tidy, in good repair and condition by way of reporting maintenance issues as required.

  • Maintain written communication in accordance with A.I's.

  • Escalate and report any/all security breaches in accordance with A.I's.

  • Respond to emergency situations and assist with emergency building evacuations when necessary, assuming the role of Assembly Area Manager.

  • Adhere to the Equal Opportunities/Health and Safety policies on behalf of both MITIE and the client.

  • Ensure that the log books for each building(s) under your care are present, completed and up to date by way of daily checks / post visits and sign each book to confirm this.

  • Be versatile in your ability to work on a variety of sites including internal/external business events when required.

  • Maintain clear, concise radio and telephone communication to colleagues and MITIE management at all times.

  • Provide first aid if required when responding to an emergency medical situation.

  • Remain alert to local events which potentially impact business operations.

  • Remain pro-active in your approach to the role and escalate any concerns you may have to MITIE management.

  • Assist control room staff with carrying out operational checks of all security systems in place when required.

  • Request additional manning levels from the MITIE control / pool team having obtained the appropriate cost/project or building code in order to fulfil any short notice additional manning requirements.

  • Report immediately any/all equipment faults to the relevant vendor, providing correct details and in a timely manner.

  • Ensure full compliance of audit requirements by way of following current processes in place.

  • Ensure that all information relating to core and additional manning requirements is recorded correctly and presented to MITIE back office functions/ Operations manager in a timely manner in order to be invoiced efficiently.

  • Attend the weekly Operations meeting and brief all team members of relevant points / forthcoming events raised afterwards.

  • Any other duty deemed relevant by contract management.

  • Excellent knowledge of all process and policies associated with the Deutsche Bank contract.

  • The responsibilities listed are not exhaustive. The Duty Security Manager position requires a flexible approach to responsibilities in order to meet the fluctuating demands of the client.

    Salary: £50,589.14


  • Hours: 07:00 / 19:00 7 on 3 off 7 on 4 off shift rotation. 12 hour shifts including days, nights, Weekends.
