DVT Service Advanced Nurse Practitioner

The position is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner within the DVT service providing assessment, diagnoses and management of DVT and anticoagulation issues., To use highly developed skills and knowledge in order to take a full medical history, undertake clinical examination, implement investigations and interpret all results in order to deliver the most appropriate care.

To provide a Nurse led screening, investigation and treatment service for patients with suspected and/or proven DVT.

To provide high standard of specialist, evidenced based care in accordance with individual needs.

To provide expert advice and clinical practice.

To provide care in a variety of settings based on patient need e.g. clinic, home, care home.

To prevent unnecessary hospital admission.

To work collaboratively with colleagues, healthcare professionals and other agencies to develop services and quality of care delivered.

To provide a comprehensive DVT/PE follow up clinic on a daily basis.

To participate in the education and development of other staff.
