Full Job Description

Applications are invited to join our e-Resourcing Team based at Whiston Hospital as e-Resourcing System Assistant.

The eRostering team are responsible for the maintenance of electronic rostering to all staff groups across the Trust, and then the subsequent delivery of support and guidance required by managers and staff.

The team work closely with departments to build automated staffing rosters which interface with the Trust's ESR system to process leave, absence and payroll. This ensures that managers have the tools at their disposal to ensure services are staffed safely with the required grades of staff and necessary skill and consequently has an impact on improved patient care.

The team also work closely with the Trust's software provider to ensure rostering systems are being utilised fully and are regularly involved in projects and pilots to trial new and more developed ways of rostering.,

  • To deliver training to clinical and non-clinical staff.

  • To work closely with the e-Resourcing Administrators and e-Resourcing Team Leader to ensure all tasks are completed or escalated to the Resourcing Manager.

  • To assist with rotation planning and co-ordination.

  • To support all new system upgrades by pre-testing new versions and ensure data integrity and quality.

  • Participate in staff meetings and training initiatives as required.


  • PROJECTS
  • To be a member of e-Rostering and provide an efficient administration support to the e-Resourcing Administrators.

  • To deal with the telephone, e-mail, and written communications for the team.

  • Review requests through email/telephone for roster support and take action ensuring difficulties are reported to the e-Resourcing Administrator if further action is required.

  • Provide support to the e-Resourcing Administrators to ensure all required data is available at each phase of the project to enable it to be input into the systems database.

  • Work with Ward Managers/Rostering Leads to effectively manage the rostering systems across the Organisation.

  • To ensure positive promotion of all e-Resourcing activity, utilising a variety of communication channels to maximise engagement across the organisation.

  • Provide agreed training, and training materials required to ensure effective implementation of the systems across the Organisation.

  • To provide on-going training and support to users Trust-wide.

  • To refer to the Electronic Systems Administrators for support with complex system queries.

    The position is full time, 37.5 hours per week fixed term for up to 10 months covering maternity leave. Office hours are open from 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday.

    Acute Care

    Providing emergency and maternity services at Whiston, Southport and Ormskirk hospitals, and medical and surgical specialties across all our sites.

    Providing primary care services at Marshalls Cross Medical Centre situated in St Helens Hospital.

    Community Services

    Providing adult community services for St Helens and a wheelchair service in Chorley, South Ribble, and West Lancashire. Our inpatient unit at Newton Community Hospital is where patients needing acute hospital beds can continue rehabilitation, freeing up space for more unwell patients. We also provide urgent care at our Urgent Treatment Centre located in St Helens town centre.

    Specialist Regional Services

    We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
