Operations unit in Washington DC (CNTTR) is seeking an Extended Term Consultant (ETC) to supplement team leads (TTLs) in various activities for the treasury system replacement project (TANGO). The position requires extensive knowledge of IFC treasury products, IFC treasury operations, and IFC financial systems, with experience in project management and problem-solving complex issues in treasury system implementations or upgrades. The Consultant will be required to work with various team functions and become a fully functional team member within a short timeframe. The position requires the ability to establish productive relationships with staff at all levels within the team and across various units of IFC. Duties & Responsibilities: The Consultant will work as part of a team of professionals to meet the group's responsibilities as they relate to the delivery of back-office and accounting functions for all IFC Treasury activities and will report to the CNTTR Team Lead. Responsibilities will include the following:
- Assist team leads in managing project timelines, deliverables, and milestones to ensure a smooth transition from the existing treasury platform (Summit) to Murex. Provide expert technical guidance and solutions for complex issues encountered during the transition, leveraging in-depth knowledge of treasury operations and systems (Summit/Murex). Support the integration of Murex with existing systems and platforms (Summit/SDR/Quantum/SAP), ensuring seamless data flow and functionality across the treasury ecosystem. Facilitate discussions to address critical integration points and system architecture considerations. Analyze and recommend solutions to complex issues that arise during the transition to a new environment, including data transformation, data migration, and system integration. Work closely with business analysts, IT teams, and end-users to ensure alignment between technical solutions and, current and future needs, taking into consideration the real underlying issues. Works across CNT and with other VPUs to define client needs and develop the right solutions to meet those needs. PLUS: Provides recommendations to multiple VPUs that can add value to customers beyond normal offerings. Broad Business Thinking : Maintains an in-depth understanding of key business issues. Sets clear explanations for the integration and alignment of CNT solutions with business functions. PLUS: consider WBG-wide implications in decision-making to ensure consistency across WBG. Sponsors long-term VPU-wide initiatives. Information Technology and Systems : Demonstrates understanding of the functions and operations of pertinent IT systems and applications. Provides inputs to IT system enhancement efforts based on day to day working experience and knowledge of the systems. Analytical Thinking : Coordinates the information gathering and reporting process. Reviews trends and compares to expectations. Conducts analysis to define problems and prepares responses to anticipated questions. Policies and Procedures : Demonstrates thorough knowledge of policies and procedures in related fields. Risks and Controls : Leads by example and serves as a champion of best practices in completing internal control procedures, including understanding the impact beyond one's immediate functional areas. Communication : Adapts the communication style appropriate for the intended audience. Adopts an inclusive approach to communication as is appropriate to the situation, to ensure adequate stakeholder participation. Presents information effectively and encourages feedback. Project Management : Understands and utilizes the concepts of project management, as they relate to the implementation of a project. - Identify and recommend performance optimization strategies for Murex to enhance system efficiency and reliability post-transition. Provide expertise in custom development and configuration within Murex to tailor the platform to the team's specific needs. Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies, including performance, stress, and user acceptance testing (UAT), to ensure system stability and compliance. Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including system designs, integration plans, and troubleshooting guides. Provide training and knowledge transfer to internal teams. Selection Criteria A master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of experience as a technical consultant/lead in financial services, with a focus on treasury systems like Summit or Murex. Strong project management skills, with experience in supporting large-scale system transitions.
- Strong understanding of IFC treasury products, processes, and financial instruments. In-depth knowledge of treasury system (Summit/Murex) configuration, customization, and integration. Proficiency in creating technical documentation and conducting training sessions. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and can work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment. Self-starting, highly disciplined, and team-oriented individual with proven ability to solve complex technical problems and deliver innovative solutions. Competent in office technology tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Fluency in written and spoken English required. Prior knowledge of the institution's existing systems, processes, and organizational structure.
