Full Job Description

The Early Years Alliance supports Early Years providers to deliver high quality, affordable and sustainable care and learning to families to ensure all children regardless of background are given the best possible start in life. We are looking to recruit to the Birmingham team who deliver a project that supports and develops Baby and Toddler groups and links with Children and Family Centres and the Local Authority Early Years team in Birmingham.,

  • To support the maintenance of a database of all Baby and Toddler groups across Birmingham
  • To establish contact with group leaders via face to face meetings, telephone conversations and/or online
  • To work with the Early Years Manager and other colleagues as directed to arrange, prepare and deliver high quality online / face to face meetings to support groups
  • Deliver high quality early years activities as directed and as per the Alliance unregistered policies and procedures
  • To contribute to the quarterly newsletter
  • To promote the Baby and Toddler toolkit and the Alliance support package benefits including training and publications
  • To develop your role within the team in line with the Charity's performance standards and values and to work within Alliance policies and procedures
  • To attend and contribute to regular staff / team meetings
  • To attend any conferences, training events or meetings as identified
  • To ensure adherence to Alliance's code of practice on confidentiality and to be compliant with GDPR
  • To keep up to date with good practice and to work to a high professional standard to ensure a customer focused service is delivered enhancing continually the reputation of the organisation
  • To perform any other duties as deemed necessary by the line manager

    Possess a childcare qualification at Level 3 or above, or other relevant qualification.
  • Demonstrate significant experience of delivering and managing children and family sessions such as toddler group, drop in, creche, family learning session, nursery, pre-school or other relevant setting.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), child development and how young children learn through play, talk and discovery, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the benefits to children of healthy lifestyles and how musical opportunities can promote communication and language skills.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the EYFS welfare requirements to support delivery of safe, stimulating learning environments, appropriate to all the ages and stages of the children attending.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of how to be sensitive and supportive to children and families from a range of cultures, lifestyles and circumstances, and with and without additional needs, to ensure children and families feel valued and respected for who they are.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the value and importance of home learning and the ability to encourage parental involvement within the sessions in support of their children's learning.
  • Excellent Customer awareness.
  • Commitment to young children and families.
  • To be aware of the harmful impact on children of discriminatory experiences and ensure that children feel valued. and respected for who they are.
  • Friendly, flexible approach.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and on own initiative.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding procedures which includes attending regular update training.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good IT.
