Full Job Description

  • To undertake 2-year development reviews using the ASQ assessment to holistically assess the child's general health, physical, social, emotional, behavioural and language development following successful completion of the competency framework.
  • To design, plan and deliver targeted group work such as stay and play sessions, speech and language activities, SEND support/activities, family learning and baby groups
  • To provide specific activities parents can use in the home to develop their child's speech and language skills and undertake home visits where necessary.
  • Provide guidance and support to families on EEE, childcare options, child development, child safety and early education.
  • To communicate key messages to pregnant mothers and new parents in relation to attachment and bonding with their baby, providing support in a clear and empathetic manner
  • To provide support to women who are breastfeeding, encouraging the development of group support as required
  • To engage with local partners and communities to promote key public health messages e.g infant feeding, weaning, oral health, nutrition advice and deliver workshops where required.
  • To provide crèche facilities for under 5s while their parents/carers participate in parent-focussed activities.
  • To work with the parents of children under 5 who require support with their child's emotional health and behaviours.
  • To support parents who have under 5s with SEND needs ensuring inclusive practice and signposting to additional specialist support as required.
  • Make effective links with Family Support staff ensuring all relevant information is shared, as appropriate, in relation to the children and parents.
  • To attend and participate in multi-agency meetings as required and provide reports.
  • To work flexibly and deliver services across the service as directed.

    This role will require you to travel independently across the Ladywood District, therefore you must be flexible and adaptable, particularly in relation to working hours and location. A full driving licence and use of your own vehicle would be an advantage.
