Full Job Description

To work as an early years practitioner (within small team of eyps) for Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust Perinatal Mental Health Team.

PMHT assists mothers with moderate to severe mental health needs, and the role will be supporting them to care for their babies, to ensure the physical and emotional needs of baby are met, and to support them to engage in activities that promote the mother and infant bond and relationship.

Working as part of the multidisciplinary perinatal mental health team, the EYPs work alongside clinical staff to promote recovery of mothers mental health using a variety of interventions to promote attachment to baby (eg: baby massage).

These interventions could be with mothers on 1 to 1 basis, or may be in a group setting (eg: our EYPS run a weaning group).

Working in collaboration with other staff within the team, as well as those external agencies, and other professionals involved (eg: health visitors, or social care staff).

Assisting PMHT in meeting the needs of both children and their families, by undertaking delegated duties that support and enable family centred care.

Reporting back to and working under the supervision of qualified practitioners to develop, modify or implement interventions.
