Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Early Years and Childcare team at Wigan for an 'Early Years Recruitment Engagement Officer.' If you are you looking to use your expertise to support childcare businesses to overcome key barriers to recruitment and retention and you are keen to work within a fast pace, energetic and passionate team then we would love to hear from you.

This role will be for a temporary, twelve-month period to support the delivery of the early education entitlement and wraparound expansion programmes.

The successful candidate will work in partnership with a range of key stakeholders such as job centre plus, childcare providers, schools and colleges to attract new interest in working within the childcare sector. They will also work to support individual employers to overcome some of the barriers they are experiencing. The main aim to enable them to fill vacant posts or recruit to new services.

You can demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of childcare legislation and key priorities relating to the workforce. A clear understanding of the different routes into childcare, training, qualifications and apprenticeships. You will have excellent communication and negotiating skills and able to work with people from all backgrounds.

You will hold a recognised English, Maths qualification and be competent in the use of Microsoft Office including excel, word power point as you will need to prepare reports and deliver presentations in a clear, concise manner. You will be able to demonstrate high attention to detail in a challenging area of work, good organisational, event planning skills. Be solution focussed and able to work with a positive approach.
