We discourage over reliance on AI-generated applications as it will lessen your chances of success in securing an interview with us ., The GHC Eating Disorders Service is recruiting an experienced and enthusiastic senior clinician to work within a specialist mental health service. The service is based in Cheltenham and Gloucester holding a caseload of 1000 clients.
The post holder will assess, clinically manage, care co-ordinate and treat children, adolescents and adults with an eating disorder and their families. Working alongside other health care professionals including RMN's, RGN's GP's, Dieticians, AHP's and Consultant Psychiatrists in order to support service users within their recovery., The candidate will hold excellent communication skills, be enthusiastic in their approach and demonstrate an understanding of the complexities involved in this specialist area of mental health
+ To work with the supervision of the Lead Clinician and Band 7 Clinicians with patients with clinically significant eating disorders
+ To assess patient and family needs and devise an appropriate care plan, communicating the plan in writing to the patient with copies to their GP, referrer and other involved parties
+ To participate in the measurement of outcome, timely recording of clinical notes and communication of any significant clinical changes including ending of treatment in writing to the patient and their GP
+ To provide evidence based treatments for children, adolescents and adults and their families as appropriate (currently Family Based Treatment [FBT], Cognitive Behaviour Therapy-Enhanced [CBT-E] and Interpersonal Psychotherapy [IPT])
+ To provide treatment for patients with Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID
We have a team of highly dedicated and skilled clinical staff and due to a surge in demand following the Covid 19 pandemic we are looking to expand our service.
We will provide the successful candidate with a high level of psychosocial training including CBTE and family based therapy.

The Eating Disorders Service in Gloucestershire is growing and as part of Community Mental Health Transformation a review of all posts has been completed. We welcome applicants from traditional Mental Health Nursing backgrounds as well Allied Health Professionals - Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Arts Therapists, Physiotherapists. In addition, the revised posts are also offered to graduates and post graduates with relevant degrees who are able to demonstrate the required experience and competencies.
The service provides specialist assessment, treatment and support for individuals who are experiencing an eating disorder and their families within Gloucestershire., We have in excess of 5000 staff working over 50 sites, providing a diverse range of services. You will be working with adolescents providing an evidenced based treatment and be over seen and supported by our highly skilled clinical leads.
We will ensure you feel confident and equipped to carry out this role and provide you with regular clinical and managerial supervision.
