Full Job Description

The EC&I Engineer will be responsible for producing design studies and manufacturing designs for NSG projects. The engineer will work within a multi-discipline design team and be responsible for undertaking the design of equipment as delegated by the Integration Manager and/or Project Manager., The EC&I Engineer will generate EC&I engineering project deliverables such as:

  • Block Diagrams
  • Basic calculations
  • Technical specifications
  • Requirements
  • Technical reports
  • Provide project, stakeholder and bid management support such as:
  • Input into the generation of project schedules
  • Maintaining relationships with our Clients and the Supply Chain
  • Generating and responding to Technical Queries (TQs)

    Candidates will be expected to undergo UK Security Vetting to DV level, thus will need to be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past 10 years.
  • Excellent communication skills Report writing Ability to understand problems and propose solutions A good understanding of general electrical or controls and instrumentation principles, e.g:
  • Design fundamentals
  • Application of Formulae and Calculations
  • Basic optioneering and equipment selection
  • Environmental impact to installation and equipment, for example IP Ratings and Special Locations
  • General understanding of EC&I drawings, both reading and production of Block, Line, Layout, Schematic, Wiring, Termination etc
  • Fundamentals of Safety Systems, Interlocks and of designing to 'Fail Safe'
  • Control methodology, Flexible
  • Team player

  • Experience:
  • Electrical Engineering: 3 years (required)

    NSG Environmental Ltd has been delivering work programmes in the nuclear industry for over 40 years. Traditionally in the areas of decommissioning and waste management, NSG now has a broad customer base and provides a wide spectrum of services across the nuclear project lifecycle, ranging from expert consultancy support, R&D and engineering design to rekit and refurbishment, site installation services and high-hazard physical decommissioning works, amongst others.
  • This work is delivered at NSG's own offices and purpose-built facilities and nuclear sites across the UK. The delivery and management of these projects and programmes of work is carried out by a skilled workforce composed of both white-collar and blue-collar personnel in technical, administrative, and physical roles.

    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: £30,000.00-£60,000.00 per year Additional pay:
