Full Job Description
We are the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver £7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services. We provide the design and engineering capability across the PPP portfolio. We are looking for people who are passionate about developing themselves and in meeting new challenges. We are currently looking for an EC&I Responsible Engineer to join the team on the SIXEP Contingency Plant (SCP) project, ideally in Birchwood or Cumbria. Our team will support you and develop you in the role, even if you haven't experienced all aspects of this type of role previously. This role will include:
- Leading a team of discipline engineers in the definition, implementation and delivery of specified functional work that achieves safety, functional, legislative and business requirements.
- Ensure control, delivery and reporting of fit for purpose, integrated design solutions that meet requirements including site licence, safety, time, cost, quality, environmental and legal. Ensure appropriate and adequate design standards and practices are intelligently deployed and deliverables and solutions generated are safe, legal and adequately underpinned.
- Ensure that appropriate design review activities are performed in a timely manner.
- Ensure that documents define and preserve the design intent and are organised and align with the plant configuration and that the design solution can be deployed on the Sellafield site. Approval of discipline-specific design deliverables.
- Carry out work in line with the Project Delivery Fundamentals.
- Ensure all design is carried out by competent (SQEP) people throughout the project / task lifecycle and supply chain.
- The leadership, mentoring, training, health, safety, career development and performance management of direct reports.
- To work in compliance with the Collaborative Management Plan.
- Degree and chartered in EC&I engineering or associated discipline
- Experience of working on large scale projects
- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks on a regular basis
- A passion for developing engineers and driving innovation in engineering delivery
- Able to network within the wider EC&I discipline to share expertise and LFE across PPP
