Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Ecologist to help deliver our ecological and environmental survey work within our Natural Capital department., As Estate Ecologist, you will play a pivotal role in leading and delivering our ecological ambitions across Devonshire Group sites. You will work closely with three of the Groups estates, feeding into initiatives which promote and deliver the sustainable management of our natural resources, and you will gain expert insight into the realities of running highly diverse estates and landscapes. You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders to develop the Groups reputation in this area.
- A degree in ecology, conservation, environmental science, natural resource management, or a related field
- A good understanding of different ecological and environmental monitoring techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships quickly and easily, with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally
- A collaborative approach with proven ability of delivering nature projects by working cross functionally and with multiple stakeholders, including statutory environmental bodies
- In-depth knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to ecological management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct research and analysis to inform decision-making This is a new, 12-month fixed term post, working Monday to Friday, with hybrid working once the role is established. Part-time working will also be considered. The role will be based at the Chatsworth Estate, Derbyshire, but the ability to travel across Devonshire Group locations is essential.
