Full Job Description
We are looking for an experienced digital marketing or eCommerce executive to join team on a fixed term basis of 6 months. Your role within the D2C team will be primarily to run our centrally managed Special Editions Shopify store where we help research, pitch, shape and launch Special Editions for the likes of Inside No.9, Robert Galbraith, and Joe Lycett. You'll be equipped with support from a range of Group functions, and you will be making a significant revenue and creative impact to the Special Editions brand, our publishers and their authors. Specific activities will include the following:
- You'll be involved in creating and then implementing a long-term marketing strategy for Special Edition Books.
- Overseeing implementation of a brand re-fresh on the store.
- Writing blog posts based on keyword and SEO research.
- Planning, creating and managing paid and organic campaigns, and associated budget.
- Planning, commissioning and developing marketing assets in conjunction with divisional marketing teams and our in-house AV team.
- Responding and engaging directly with customers, fans and authors on social media and other channels.
- Carrying out research for Special Editions to help in the pitching and development of potential projects with publishers.
- Preparing and implementing marketing plans for the brand, and individual titles.
- Producing monthly reports for Special Editions, sharing with publishers and senior management.
- Working on POS marketing material for internal and external promotional use.
- Helping manage the pipeline and product development life cycles for upcoming and prospective Special Editions. Around a third of the role will also be supporting the other Shopify store teams and Central Marketing with:
- Answering queries and making recommendations on best practice Shopify use.
- Staying on top of Shopify roadmap and recommending implementation of new features, delivering short training/refreshers and onboarding new team members to the divisional teams where required.
- Feeding in to best practice discussions and presentations, sharing learnings from successes and failures.
- Leading on sharing eCommerce sales and marketing techniques with the store teams and Central Marketing.
- Shaping processes to ensure smooth working practices between central departments and teams.
- Coordinating with other central departments such as IT and legal to effect technical and process improvements.
We're looking for someone with extensive Shopify and D2C (B2C, DTC) experience who is full of creative energy and who pivots approaches based on measured outcomes and planning. You'll be confident to work independently and able to present to small groups on occasion. Essential - Extensive Shopify experience - you need to be our resident Shopify expert.
- D2C (B2C) eCommerce experience, preferably in publishing or a similar industry.
- Extensive digital marketing experience including SEO/SEM, PPC, Socials, and email. Nice to have skills and experience:
- Luxury or collectible consumer product marketing and/or sales.
- Experience training other people on technology and processes.
- Experience working in a group function, supporting wider teams
- Experience in international eCommerce sales via Shopify
