The role will be pivotal in driving the performance and growth of the E-Commerce channels through:

Responsibilities / Objectives:

Managing optimum stock levels to achieve sales and on-line sell through
Identifying opportunities for the growth of online exclusive product
Providing commercial insight into the online channel performance to guide Buyers & Category Merchandisers in building appropriate ranges
Provide the focal point and communication link between the Category Buying and Merchandise team and the on-line channel team
To manage in-season stock build, allocation and stock availability of all multi-channel offers (on-line, catalogue, TV etc.) in line with the various critical paths and KPI's (sales, profit, returns, availability, sell through)
Grow sales and ensure creation of a balanced product offering, using analytics to optimise the site and drive web traffic
Ensure online activity is in line with overall brand and marketing strategy
Building ranges from scratch and substantiate the numbers behind them
Construct sales and stock plans to support the overall multichannel budget but specific to the individual publications (on-line, catalogue, TV etc.)
Influencing on-line marketing activity to maximise commercial opportunity based on company level product performance and/or stock levels
Consistently manage the flow of product and to work closely with the Buying & Merchandise team to minimise lead times, create flexibility and improve availability
Selection Criteria

Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
Experience in a retail Merchandising environment, ideally with E-commerce experience
Numerical / analytical skills including data, budgets, range and production planning
Ability to evolve with the role and adapt to suit expectations as the position develops
Ability to manage and motivate the E-commerce Assistant whilst demonstrating own competencies internally - playing a "hands on" role whenever necessary
Strong demonstration of range planning
Excellent knowledge of forecasting principles
Able to "spot the winners"
Understanding of range planning
Thorough understanding of the key elements of the Buying Cycle and the principles of E-Commerce trading
Commercially minded with an entrepreneurial spirit, able to demonstrate own creativity whilst empowering team to encourage personal development
Able to communicate at any level, understands when to challenge and when to use tact and diplomacy to ensure a "win win" outcome
Excellent knowledge of forecasting principles
Good understanding of the key elements of the Buying Cycle
