EVO Group currently have an opportunity in our Ecommerce Development department for a Web Development Specialist at our Normanton Office. The successful candidate will develop and support the existing ecommerce platforms within the Group and to provide value added services to our customers to enhance revenue streams.

Perfect for a self-motivated industrious individual who can be flexible and willing to jump into whatever is necessary. Our core function is to develop and support ecommerce solutions and infrastructure on our legacy, .net and MS-SQL systems to enhance and grow the digital footprint of the business across B2B and B2C trading.

The role would great for someone starting or developing their career in full stack website/software development and testing, on the job skills development and mentoring is provided. The successful applicant will be exposed to all aspects of what we do as a team and after a probationary period will have the opportunity to focus their time more in an area best suited to them.

We currently develop and support 6 trading ecommerce websites hosted internally on our own infrastructure.,

  • Assisting primarily with the development of new features and enhancements to existing websites but additionally the development of new websites or services ensuring value is added at each step.

  • Web development using our in-house ecommerce platform, html, JavaScript and Microsoft technologies (SQL .net etc.).

  • Working in tandem with the Group Web Design Team to facilitate new designs and features.

  • Testing and documentation of new features/applications or reported production issues.

  • Working to provide services to support projects and application development within the ecommerce team.

  • Support in Supplier / third party liaison to resolve issues or further development.

  • Documenting processes and procedures followed to allow developed systems to be managed by 1st line support teams.

  • Ecommerce platform support: responding to, identifying and resolving any issues reported to us via the ecommerce customer service team.

    Good written and personal communication skills

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft C# or Javascript / JQuery

  • Experience of using .NET Framework or .NET Core

  • Good SQL Server or Entity Framework knowledge

  • Some sound knowledge of HTML and CSS

  • Motivated self-starter with a willingness to learn and adapt


  • Desired Skills:
  • Website / Software testing

  • Cloud experience (Azure or AWS)

  • Experience with RESTful APIs, and/or microservices would be highly beneficial

  • Agile/Scrum experience

  • Azure Devops or similar (Git, Source Control)

  • Ecommerce development

  • Some exposure to any of the following:

  • MVC, Web Services, XML, PHP, IIS, Punch-Out or Payment Gateways, Disability Confident
