Economics Placement Year Programme

As a Placement student, you'll be assisting the team in their wider responsibilities and take ownership for some projects of your own by providing research support and insight. The role is a fantastic opportunity to take your classroom learning and gain a practical application of how economics is used in the real world. You'll develop a greater insight to how our investors make their investment decisions and how economics can help shape financial markets. We're looking for a keen and motivated placement year student to join our Economics department as part of our 2025 Economics Placement Year programme.,
• Good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
• A desire to get involved in variety of tasks and projects
• Numerate and inquisitive- you'll be comfortable with Excel and have good attention to detail. You'll be happy to think outside the box and look for a fresh perspective
• A growth mindset: we understand you may make mistakes, and when you do, we are looking for you to learn from these.
The knowledge, skills and qualifications we're looking for
• Interested in macroeconomics, financial markets and current affairs
• Currently studying Economics at university (can be joint honours but Economics must be the major subject)
• For your application to be considered for this role, your CV must include all of the following:
• Degree being studied
• Itemised list of all degree modules (first and second year) - core modules plus options and grades to date
• If you studied A-level in Maths and grade
• Relevant work experience
